Meet Cari Favole
My journey began growing up in a close-knit family, living in several states along the South-East coast. My older sister, Christine, planted the seed of passion for voice over in me when she showed me the world behind animation. At the age of 6, I was playing “Name that Voice” with her, arguing over which talent was responsible for voicing our favorite Saturday Morning Cartoon characters. We would record (on VHS!) the ending credits so we could pause them and prove one of us right – or learn a new name!
During my studies at the University of Georgia, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Theatre: Performing Arts, I had my first taste for voice over through my volunteer work as a Reader for the Blind & Dyslexic, recording audiobook narration of course workbooks and texts.
I have since studied with the best. To name a few: David Rosenthal and Cristina Milizia of Global Voice Acting Academy; Gravy For The Brain; Atlanta Voiceover Studio; Bob Carter with the Neighborhood Studio; Lisa Biggs with Dream Bigg Productions; and renowned radio and vocal coach, Eileen Kimble.
As a child, I would often get into trouble for my overly expressive voice and exaggerated facial movements; but it’s just who I am. My last name, Favole, is Italian for "fairy tales" or "fables" and my great passion for stories and creativity is an integral part of my identity. While by profession I am an actor, I am a storyteller at my core. As I grew and developed, my imagination was nurtured and encouraged, and I bring forth the freedom and enjoyment of exploration to every project.
I have embraced my effervescence and take pride in being a vivacious, high-spirited, lively, and animated “life of the party” person. I make sure everyone feels included and is having a good time; we’re all a part of the “inside joke”. Simply put, I am the embodiment of “bubbly champagne”.
Breathing life into words for my clients, whether it be an animated character or a commercial voice over, is my driving force. Creating voices for previously silent characters brings a rush of joy; I love to express their emotions through my voice. Even for corporate narrations, I look at the script or copy and think, "Who am I? What's my Story? and To Whom am I speaking?" Suddenly, that E-Training Presentation becomes engaging and effective, and the listener retains more information.
But when not in my studio, I spend most of my time spoiling my Italian Greyhound, Cecily. (Pictured above). My hobbies include Reading; Writing; Craft projects, such as embroidery and sewing; Playing video games; Marathoning Netflix shows; and swapping stories!
